What Causes Mottled Skin In A 2 Year Old?

Hi my daughter is 2 and a half and has mottled skin, sometimes it is worse than other times but most of the time always there. She had viral meningitis at 5 weeks old and was in hospital for 2 weeks andwhen she gets a cold or viral infection she always gets it really bad but i just wondered if her mottled skin is ok or would there be a reason behind it.

Hi.... I feel it could be a - status marmoratus (physiological skin mottling to changes in ambient temperature).

This is not related to the meningitis she had as an infant and I appreciate you giving me the old history of medical significance.

I suggest you upload an image of the same so that I can guide you better. skin conditions are best diagnosed and treated after seeing them directly.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
