What Causes Momentary Loss Of Vision And Sharp Pain In Head?

Hi,two days ago I woke up with momentary loss of vision maybe for about five-seven seconds.Saturday night I was sitting down at a holiday dinner and had a sharp flash of pain in my head and noticed a lump that wasn't there earlier that day.since then I've been in pain with a very bad headache and the lump has gotten bigger.its very painful to where when I walk I get pulsating pain in my head.I'm wondering is this a chronic migraine? Should I see a doctor?

Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I would explain that the lump in your head could indicate an infection. It is not typical of migraine.

For this reason, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical check up, a brain CT scan and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate). A brain MRI may be needed.

Hope to have been helpful!
Wishing all the best, Dr. Aida
