What Causes Mole Raising, Growing And Darkening Inside/at Top Of Butt Crack?

Hello I am a 17 year old girl. I and 5'1" and weigh about 130 lbs. I don't have any serious medical conditions or history. This past year I've noticed a mole raising, growing, and darkening inside/at the top of my butt crack. It seems sometimes it shrinks and grows. it feels almost like a pimple. Is this normal? I have used tanning beds in the past year, that's why I'm even more concerned.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a mole raising, growing, and darkening inside/at the top of my butt crack that appears like a pimple seems to be most probably due to formation of Pilonidal cyst or Pilonidal Abscess and it can occur due to causes like:
-Traumatic injury to tailbone area.
-Ingrown hairs.
-Infection in the area etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist or a General Surgeon and get evaluated and a clinical examination is generally sufficient and if required x ray can also be advised..

In case of Pilonidal abscess you can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and cool compresses over the area..
You can also be advised Incision and Drainage in case of abscess and Marsupialization or Enucleation in case of Cyst..
