Daughter had sex on dec 6th her period was due dec 7th. She's never started her period. And now this months period was due today and it's not came yet either. About 2 weeks ago she had some jelly clear discharge come out so much she had thought she started. She's taken pregnancy tests but all have came out negative. Could she be pregnant or what else could be wrong?

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Divakara's Response
HI
Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P Thanks for posting your query.
See , apart from pregnancy there are other causes of Delayed periods. There are problems in uterus , ovaries or hormonal changes .
Also I need to know whether your daughter had taken any contraceptive pills immediately after sex . That will also alter her hormonal levels and cause delay in periods .
I advise you to get Ultrasound abdomen scan done and consult a gynecologist in person. If Ultrasound and personal examination is normal she need to undergo a hormonal analysis test.
Hope this information is useful to you. Any clarification feel free to ask.
