What Causes Milky White Vaginal Discharge?

Hi my name is Nicole, for the past few weeks I ve been noticing some changes with the color and texture of my discharge. Around two weeks ago I noticed my discharged had changed from watery and transparent to thick, goey and white. After a few days the texture changed again and it became more clumpy. Today when going to the restroom I noticed it was milky white colored and it was watery but still chunky and stretchy, and I noticed some spots of blood within it. I chatted with someone from Planned Parenthood and he told me it was completely normal, but I am still concerned. Is this actually something I should be worried about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Milk discharge helps get rid of bacteria and dead cells in the cervix and vagina. This, in turn, keeps infection away from the vagina.
Usually, milky white vaginal discharge is a normal phenomenon.
There can be, however, differing amounts of discharge and different color or odor that means it is something wrong.
So your symptoms could be due to vaginal infection like fungal/yeast infection.
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo vaginal swab test and urine tests to rule out the cause.
Doctor will give following advises:
Single dose treatment of azithromycin + flucoconazole + tinidazole
Vaginal suppository of clotrimazole and lactobacillus.
Wash vagina with warm salted water and then apply apple cidar vinegar
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene by using V vaginal wash after urination and sex.
Drink plenty of water and take healthy diet.
Hope this may help you
