Hi my 2 year old son fell asleep very quickly after a slight bash to his head and never normally falls asleep that quick, I picked him up and normally he would wake up and stay awake after that but he just fell back asleep then I tried to wake him again and he wasn t responding I tapped him, tickled and blew on his face and nothing, I got really scared he was still breathing normal pace and after about 10 miniutes he then woke up and has acted his normal self since (1hour) what happened to him and why would he not wake when he s normally a very light sleeper?

Hello!
Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

I understand your concern, but you should know that the brain of children is very sensitive to head trauma. The increased sleepiness could be caused by a head concussion or a temporary loss of the brain normal function due to the head trauma.
The best thing to do in this situation is to help him avoid a possible repeated head trauma in the next days. For this reason, it is necessary to stay next to him. I would also advice avoid heavy games, which need a straining physical activity or impose the risk of falling in the next days.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
