Hi Dear,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Understanding your concern.
As you describe in your query that you have
metallic taste in your mouth ,sometimes normal sense of taste alter by various factors causing change in taste of mouth temporarily .
There could be many factors responsible for this metallic taste .But the most common factors are medicines like antibiotics and medicines used for blood pressure control ,gum problems like
gingivitis and
periodontitis due to poor oral hygiene(u should visit
dentist in this case),upper respiratory track infection like cold and sinusitis and
chemotherapy .
The taste of the mouth will get to the normal as soon as we remove the causative factor .If the metallic taste persists few days after removal of causative factor then you should visit doctor, because sometimes alteration in taste occur due to defect in sesory nerve supplying taste buds of tongue .
For now eat fresh fruits and chew hard peppermint candy .
Hope your concern had been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
