What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth After Eating?

in may I was hospitalized with bilateral pyelonephritis & mild ileus. I am 53 yrs old always & have been in good shape, working out 3 - 5 days a week eating a healthy diet. On & off for 5 weeks now I have a metallic taste in my mouth and everything I eat & drink tastes rancid! I have gained 20 lbs since this episode in may, I have NEVER been over weight in my life.... I don t look fat over all, but my stomach feels bloated & is large....any ideas?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The metallic taste could be because of the use of certain drugs like metronidazole.
antihypertensives like lisinopril, fosinopril, enalapril, trandolapril, quinapril and ramipril. Anticancer drugs and antihistamines can also cause metallic taste. The metallic taste should return back to normal after stopping the medicines, it might take maximum of two weeks. If it does not subside then you consult a oral physician.
