What Causes Metallic Taste At The Back Of Tongue?

Hi, I am 53, 5'9" and 190lb arthritis patient on Humira, prednisone, methotrexate, folic acid and vicodin as needed for pain. I had a cyst that became infected and I was put on 2000 mg Kelflex a day. I had surgery to remove the cyst and had to discontinue the antibiotic after 8 days due to a reaction with digestive problems and the start of thrush in my mouth. My wound has healed but since stopping the antibiotic I have developed a headache in the front of my head with some pain behind my right eye. The headache is only when I cough or bend over and is more like sinus pressure and pain. My sinuses are draining some but I can breath through my nose easily. My latest symptom is a metallic taste in the back of my tongue. Any help you can give me would be greatly apppreciated. Thanks...John

hellooo john...read thru ur query...metallic taste can be due to the medication (resulting maybe in candidiasis) that u were taking and also can be due to the draining of sinuses...nothing to be worried in this...i suggest you to do some simple home remedies to prevent this..first of all you should do steam inhalation daily twice morning and night before going to bed..(can add vicks or iodex etc while inhalation),do breathing excercise(pranayama)for 15 mins morning and night..practise yoga or some excercise for 30-45mins..do this regularly sinus problem will be solved..and regarding candidiasis do brushing twice daily do tongue scraping and chlorhexidine mouthrinse and apply nystatin gel on the tongue (for few weeks)..be less stressed and more happy..keep smiling that can heal anytging..hope ur benefitted something from this reply..have a healthy day!!!
