What Causes Metal Taste After Getting Hit In The Temple?

ok, so while laying on the couch my cat knocked over the lamp and it surprisingly hit my head hard in the temple region. This was about a week ago...I had a splitting headache for a few days, and just today my daughter and I were playing around and I got knocked on the same side (very innocently) and now I am tasting metal. The site is very sore still - I also had severe neck pains and some residual pain along the jawline for a few days after that which I just shrugged off. Should I be concerned? Most importantly is this metallic taste connected? Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to Health care magic

I went through your history provided to us. It seems you are having metallic taste following injury to the head.
The i jury is not related to the metallic taste. Metallic taste is because of oral cavity problems and it can follow intake of drugs.
The neck pains following injury requires analgesic tablets.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment depending on the underlying cause for metallic taste.

Thank you for writing to us.
