What Causes Maroon/green Colored Poop In Infants?

My 2 1/2 year old had maroon and green poop when I changed his diaper. It was not runny but not formed either. He is not on antibodics or anything like that and had normal color poop this morning. His twin had maroon poop last Saturday once but has been normal since. Should I be worried?

Hi and thanks for this query.

There is no reason to get worried just yet. I will suggest that you monitor to see if this is something that would persist and whether the child has any symptoms or not. Should there be no further development in this light, I will suggest that you ignore this and it will all settle by itself. Green stools with no other symptoms really have very little or no significance.

I hope this addresses your query fully. If you have any ore questions or need more clarifications, I would gladly do so. I wish him the best of health.
