What Causes Lump On The Back Just Above The Shoulder Blade?
When having a massage performed by my chinese medicine practitioner he advised he felt a lump on my back I think just above the shoulder blade. He said he didn t think it was anything serious but suggested I see my doctor. He described it as being like the size of half a flat golf ball. It is not painful and I was totally unaware of its existence until he mentioned it. Could you please give me some information
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
From the description of the lump, this could be a benign lesion like a sebaceous cyst or a lipoma. If I were your doctor, after a personal physical examination of the lump, I would have advised you for a FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) of the same for a more definitive diagnosis to decide on further management.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
