What Causes Lump On Lower Part Of Tongue?

Hi, i've had the feeling of a lump in the lower part of my throat for 8 weeks with no pain or illness. The doctor told me it was a throat infection and gave me antibiotics and it didnt change anything. I returned and was told it was silent reflux and given antacids nothing changed. I returned and was told it was a throat infection but I have asked for someone to look in my throat. I am waiting to hear from the hospital to have it looked at it. It feels worse than ever and im very worried. could it be anything else? im really stressing now as its gone on for so long - Mark

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain feeling of a lump in lower part of throat with no soreness in throat can be most commonly due to Laryngeopharyngeal reflux or silent reflux and in chronic case only antacid alone will not relieve
I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and he can advise you to get a upper G.I Endoscopy done and if reflux is confirmed he can advise you to take proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole, antacids, H2 blockers like Ranitidine and dietary modofication like yake small frequent meals, avoid spicy and acidic foods, drink plenty of water..
Do moderate exercise and take short walks after meals..
Sleep with head raised as compared to feet..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
