What Causes Lower Lip Twitching In Elderly?

My mom is 71 years old and I noticed that her lower lip quivers. When I ask her about it she say she didnt know that it was quivering. Appearently she couldnt feel it. Should she go to the Doctor to get it checked? Or could it be she is just getting older?

As per your complain twitching of lower lip can occur due to a number of conditions like deficiency of Vitamin B12, decreased calcium levels, anemia, stress and panic attacks, nerve weakening etc..

Many a times dietary modifications can help in resolution, therefore you can give her a diet rich in nutrients, take vitamin b complex supplements along with calcium supplements..
Doing meditation can help in relieving stress and anxiety..

In case if there is still no improvement in a month or if symptoms worsen consult a Neurophysican and get evaluated and he can advise MRI or CT SCAN, Nerve conduction studies, and blood investigations to rule out for nutritional and hormonal deficiencies and also check for neurological disorders and treat her accordingly..
