Hi, I am a 49 y/o, 6'2", 210# male with degenerative disk disease. I've had 3 fusions in my c-spine and have had problems with lumbar pain recently. I had a minidiskectomy performed in January at the L5-S1 and L4-L5 levels (left side only) due to disk protrusion. With that cleared and confirmed by follow-up MRI, I continue to have severe low back pain, radiating through my buttox, outside of my thigh, and down to my calves. This causes horrible knotting and muscle spasms in my calves. We have now tried Neurontin to help relieve any neuropathy, to no avail. I was told of my Horseshoe kidney when I was about 31 and have had no issues that I know of connected to the kidney. Could it now be causing an issue with the sciatic nerve at this point? I'm grasping for help as I'm tired of taking the Morphene and Percocet for relief. At the time I was told about my kidney they also said it was a "pelvic horseshoe" which gives me an indication that it could be close enough to cause an issue? What's your take on this? More issues include complete lack of sex drive, fatigue, double vision on the worst days (usually lasts about 3-4 days each time), I was a very active person physically and now spend 80+% of my days laying down in bed. Help me get on my feet again!
