What Causes Lower Back Pain After Trauma?

Hi i was recently a passenger on a motorbike and it accidentaly hit a pot hole on the road where the impact made me jump on the seat and on landing i felt immense pain from my lower back going up to ma head. since then my lower back has been extremely painful such that i cannot sit on a hard surface. what could be the problem?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. In my opinion you need imaging stydy of your lower back in order to rule out important damages to your spine. I suggest you to consult your primary care doctor and to discus the possibility of the imaging study of your column. First thing to do is plain radiographs of lumbar column and tail bone to check for bone damage. If there are any doubts for bone damages or if your back pain travels down the leg (s), then you need more accurate evaluation and imaging with MRI. If there are no damages in imaging studies, or your back pain is located only in your back, there is possible damage of soft tissues (whiplash).
