What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain?

Hi, About two weeks ago at the gym I started to get a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen when I did cardio. I thought that I was just pushing too hard so I stopped. However, since then, any time I do any kind of cardio I feel the same pain regardless of how hard I push or how much I warm up. I thought it just had to do with my exercising so I stopped doing cardio for a while. But now I still feel that pain in my side whenever I take a deep breath, sing, or put pressure on the area. What could be causing this?
