What Causes Low Testosterone Levels?

Hi, I just recently had a physical, and my doctor also decided to test my blood to see my test levels. It came back as 244 which is extremely low (30 yo male). I do not believe I ve ever suffered from low testosterone, and was extremely surprised. My sex drive hasn t been what it used to lately which is the main reason we tested my testosterone. My question is....is there any reason that my test would drop off suddenly at this age? I am in decent, but not great shape, and still continue to coach wrestling and wrestle myself. I mention this bc I was wondering if perhaps a staph infection could lower test levels, or the fact that I had dislocated my shoulder the day before. I guess I am just baffled bc I had no idea my test was low, and always figured I was on the higher end. sorry for so many questions, and thank you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

As you were a wrestler did you by any chance used pills of powders to boost you physical capability when you are young. If you have used there is possibility it might have contained testosterone which could have increased your physique. this results in low testosterone produced by your body. but the supplemented testosterone would have compensated the levels. when you stop the external testosterone the testosterone produce by you body does not come back to normal. this could have resulted in the features of low testosterone levels in your body like reduced sex drive.

staph infection or dislocated shoulders will not affect testosterone levels.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
