What Causes Low Back Pain With Frequent Urination?

I have been having low back pain on both sides, muscle spasms and frequent urination. I do not have a fever or any pain with urination. I recently had a GI bleed and my kidneys were failing due to ibuprofen use. I have been off the ibuprofen for over 2 weeks. What do you think the problem could be?

Hello and thank your for asking HCM.

I have read your symptoms and i understand your concern.

There are some reasons why you have these symptoms, but i think the most possible reason is due to an urinary tract infection. Depending from the kind of infection and the response of your immune system, you might have more or less symptoms like the burning sensation while urinating, blood in urine ect.

If i was your doctor,i would recommend an urine test to confirm the diagnosis of UTI and also it will give us an idea how are the kidneys working. Right now i don't think you need to start antibiotics without a positive urine test. You can even do it at home. They are called dipstick test kit and you can buy it without the need of a prescription.

If the results are positive for UTI, you need to check up with your family doctor to take the recipe with antibiotics.

Also another reason why you have these symptoms,is the kidneys are failing, but i don't think that this is the case. I think your kidneys are fine, and doing their job like it is suposed to.

If you have any other question, please feel free to contact me.
