What Causes Low HDL Cholesterol Level Despite Taking Lipitor?
I have very low hdl due to heredity. I have been taking 20mg Lipitor and it hasn t worked. the doctor is suggesting that I take 80mg and see if that makes the hdl work properly. don t know what to do. that seems high to me. any alternative suggestions?

First off, if your LDL cholesterol level is near the 100 point that is good.
Secondly, Crestor may help elevate your HDL but, in general, statins don't have much effect
