What Causes Loose Stools With Mucus And Pain In The Abdomen?

I have been having tremendous amounts of watery Diarrhea all morning. This is very unusual for me. It stopped for about two hours until just now. Then had a small amount of watery Diarrhea that had a mucous like texture and was tinged slightly pink. I also threw up once and am having slight abdominal pain. Any info for me?

It sounds like you have an infectious cause of diarrhea. This can either be due to food poisoning (did you eat anything unusual recently? Is anyone else sick?), viral gastroenteritis (most likely cause. Do you have any other viral symptoms such as sore throat/running nose/rash?), bacterial gastroenteritis (do you have a fever? Is the pain very severe?).

If you start to notice blood in your stool or develop a high fever, I would recommend going to an ER or Urgent Care to be checked out. If the symptoms are mild, it is most likely viral and just make sure to stay hydrated. Good luck!
