What Causes Loose And Small Bowel Movement After Having Vaginal Repair?

I am a 75 yr old women in good health. I had a vaginal repair two yrs ago and ever since I notice that my bowels have changed. The shape is smaller and loose and I have to sit back on the toilet seat to have a bowel movement. I had a colonospoly sp? 7yrs ago and no polyps and no history of colon cancer in my family. Maybe I need a rectal seal? Could this be stress related. I do have hemmaroids sp again that sometime act up lately.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history and understood your concerns.
The change over to passing of small stools with looseness and have to sit in the toilet to pass motion after the surgery for vaginal repair can be due to the problems of changed or disturbed bacterial flora.
This probably is not related to the surgery itself as it would have been more of intestinal obstruction.
This could be stress related and called as IBS, that is irritable bowel syndrome.
I would advise you the following:
Tests of stool for 3 consecutive days.
Tests of blood for CBC, thyroid, liver and other functions as per the clinical picture on evaluation by your Doctor.
CT scan of the abdomen, colonoscopy and any other relevant tests.
If all the tests are normal, this is to be treated on the basis of IBS.
If anything is found on the tests, get it treated and you will be fine.
Also have review by the Surgeon who operated you to see that everything is fine related to the surgery.
