What Causes Light Brown Spots In The Groin Area?

Hi, I am a 23 year old female. And A few weeks ago, I noticed several dime- quarter sized spots in my groin area. Specifically the crease where my leg meets the perineal area. They are light brown (I m very pale), flat and have an irregular shape. The spots are not itchy and do not have scales. I have been slowly accumulating more but I didn t want to consult my family doctor until absolutely necessary. Any advice would be appreciated.

Asymptomatic brown spots in groin region suggests the possibility of Acanthosis Nigricans. Try to reduce your weight. Get yourself investigated for diabetes mellitus and insulin resistence. Topical depigmenting agents like kojic acid and arbutin can be used.Consult your dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis. Regards
