What Causes Light And Short Periods?

I m 27 and have had light period for years now. It usually last about 4 days. But for the last couple of months, it s only lasted 2 days which is worrying me. I ve been to docs few years ago and ultrasound showed my womb is fine, but I have never taken any hormone test. It s worrying me because I don t plan to have kids now, but I do in few years and I m afraid the light and short period will cause problems. I m asthmatic and do take my inhaler often. I m also on the antihistamine predisone for my asthma. I ve been taking that once a day daily for the last couple of months because my asthma attacks have been bad. I afraid if it s like pre-mature menopausal or if its stress. Should I go to the docs and get it checked?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I would like to know if you have any other symptoms as well like weight gain, and weakness. It would be appropriate for you to see a gynecologist and get evaluated, Also better to have a check on your thyroid hormone status.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Noor Us Saba Z
