What Causes Leg Weakness While On Invokana And Metformin?

I am a 64 year old female with type II diabetes and hypertension. Since I have been taking Invokana 100 mg once a day along with metformin 850 mg twice a day I have noticed a weakness in my right leg when I arise from sitting or lying down. I also take Losartan HCTZ 50/12.5 mg twice daily for hypertension. Could there be a connection to my leg weakness. It only started after I began taking Invokana.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you leg weakness while on Invokana and Metformin . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to metformin as its side effects or due to neuropathy due to diabetes . I would suggest you to consult you doctor and discuss the condition with him/her . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for neuropathy or orthopedic surgeon for muscle or bone . Doctor may prescribe itamin supplement or recommend physical therapy .
