What Causes Leg Pain While Suffering From High BP?

I m a 50 year old male. I have HBP and high cholesterol both controlled by medication. I m experiencing some some leg pain in the middle of my thigh (top). It is more bothersome when I walk. This has come on u expectantly as I have not done anything to cause stress on my legs.

Hi!
I can understand your problem, nothing to worry!
Leg pain which increases on walking could be due to so many reasons, sometimes chronic smokers have this problem.
But since the fact that you are on medication for HBP and Cholesterol, the drug used to reduce the cholesterol level may cause muscle pain due to inflammation of the muscles which is a known side effect.
Consult your doctor about this problem so that he can change your medication for high cholesterol.
Regards!

General & Family Physician Dr. Michelle Gibson James's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the pain is more severe on walking this means that it may be related your muscles injury or strain or may be due to a vascular issue though this is less likely with the location.
Vascular disease can occur in persons with hypertension and high cholesterol.

Vascular- if the blood supply is reduced , then pain would occur with increased activity such as walking.

Your doctor can assess you to determine which is the likely cause.

I hope this helps
