My 10 yr. old daughter has been suffering with leg pain for 3 years, then came the writers cramp, then excessive itching on her legs.. she has scars from scratching, her scalp began itching and she has scars on her scalp, her thought process has slowed considerably over the 3yr. span and she has low energy all day, she was diagnosed with ADD, vitamin D deficiency ,migraines this past summer and periodic paralysis- she had trouble moving, speaking, and couldn t hold a spoon. Now that her medication has been adjusted she is not having migraines and she can move and speak more normally. She wears corrective lenses now. However, her energy is very low and she takes a long time processing information and her reasoning skills lack greatly.. I know she is very intelligent, but she comes off as mentally slow. Can you tell me what is wrong with her? She has had a MRI, EEG, and a CT scan. Her neurologist says it s just migraines causing her trouble, but her migraines are managed now.. shouldn t her mental slowness clear up as well? What do you think is wrong? Her daily medications are as follows: amitriptylin, depakote, vitamin D, and methaphinidate. She is failing 5th grade, I m very concerned.
