What Causes Late Periods?

Hi...doctor i am Ananya.my period was 3 days late by due & i think m pregnant but after 3 days i got my period but still m feeling m pregnant,actually this is first time my period started late befor this i always get my period on time or before time...so i m afraid how could i confirm what s the matter...

Thanks for your query. If you have received your natural period, you cannot be pregnant. Transient hormone imbalances are often seen in the otherwise normal person and they are self-corrective. This can happen with stress, sudden weight change, infection and certain medications. This makes the cycles shorter or longer. If you still feel that you are pregnant, please get a trans-vaginal sonogram to clarify the issue. Hope this helps.
