What Causes Large Pimple With Black Spot Causing Pain In Neck?
My girlfriend has what appears to be an insect bite on her neck under her ear. It appears as a large pimple but has an enlarging black spot in the middle of it and is causing pain on the entire side of her neck. Does this sound like a bug bite or just a bad acne spot?

I can understand your concern for large pimple with black spot causing pain in neck of your girlfriend. It appears from your query that your girl friend has developed folliculitis or related pyoderma over the affected area.
This can be minor injury over the skin which can cause pus formation and then black spot causing pain.
I suggest your girl friend to keep a watch over the area and if it increases then can take a course of antibiotic under the guidance of a dermatologist or family physician. For the interim of the help I suggest you to apply an antibiotic cream such as Mupirocin or fucidin and take a pain killer such as diclofenac after meals.
Do not try to pinch or pop the area as can get further aggravated.

The treatment is with oral and topical antibiotics
If there is a lot of puss accumulated then incision and drainage might be required.
please make a dermatologist and get her treated.
It is important to take adequate treatment otherwise the infection may spread to blood.
