What Causes Kneecap And Joint Pain Despite Acupuncture And Heat Therapy?

About 4 weeks ago I felt this tremendous pain behind my knee cap and to the inside of the knee joint, eventually radiating down the leg. Now I have the same pain in the other knee cap but not near as severe. I had accupuncture done and heat therapy. This intensity of the pain seems to come and go but never really goes away. Any ideas?

Hi,Welcome to healthcare magic.
After going through your query I think You are suffering from osteoarthritis of both knee joint as pain is behind knee cap and inside of knee.
You need further investigation by x ray of both knee joints in standing position.
Analgesics (DICLOFENAC 100 MG SLOW RELEASE TABLETS) whenever pain is helpful in pain relief.
Diacerinre and glucosmine sulfate protect cartilage from breakdown and help in cartilage regeneration.
Quadriceps exercises is started after pain relief.
Sometimes vitamin D deficiency can aggravate this so serum vitamin D test is advised (if it is low than vitamin D supplementation will be required).
You can discuss with your treating doctor.
