What Causes Knee Pain After Starting Birth Control Pills?

I am 18 and a week ago I started taking birth control. Then on Thursday I landed on my knee in a weird way after jumping over a fence. My knee started having these weird pain feelings and it almost feels like a needle prick. I don't know if its from hurting my knee from jumping or do you think it could be a blood clot forming as a result from my birth control? I am very concerned that its a blood clot but I don't know if I'm just worrying about something stupid.

Hi,
I understand your query.
I am sure the knee pain you have is mostly due to the trauma after jumping,It is not likely to be due to blood clot as aside effect of oral contraceptive as-
- Contraceptives are not given to patients who have history of
thromboembolism.
- Thromboembolism is seen in form of pain/swelling along path of a blood vessel.commonly seen in vessels of arm/leg.
* please continue with your pills without a break,
* if the knee pain does not subside in a weeks time you need to get advice from an orthopedic doctor for investigations /treatment.
Thanks.
