What Causes Knee Bruising With Tenderness And Itching?

I have a quarter sized purple bruise behind my knee that has pink around the edges. I did not bump it or cause trauma. This bruise tends to reappear on the same leg and sometimes is a small as a dime at times. It is a little tender but not as much as the dark color would suggest. However, it is a little bit itchy. What could cause this and how can I stop it from returning?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you may be having Varicose vein / hemagioma behind your knee .However it can be confirmed by MRI. For pain relief you can take analgesic such as ibuprofen. For itching you can take cetrizine. It occur whenever this part dependent.
