What Causes Jelly Like Discharge During Flatulence?

I farted and a blob of jelly came out with specs of red and brown. When I farted later, there were fluffy brown things in the toilet. What could this be? I have no pain. I have been taking calcium supplements for a while and just started taking iron supplements.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Understand your concern. The jelly like thing coming out during farting with red and brown fluffy thing must be nothing but mucous mixed with tinge of blood.
Kindly get examined by a Surgeon or Proctologist as some of the conditions like hemorrhoids or anal fissure can cause this. May be it is in the initial stages and hence you are not experiencing any symptoms.
Calcium and iron supplements intake will not cause such symptoms. However, iron supplements can cause discoloration of stools.
Hence, it is advised to kindly get evaluated at the earliest.
Wish you good health.
