What Causes Jaw Pain?

Hi, I am a 21 year old female and I went on a roller coaster this weekend and screamed a lot while on the ride. After I got off, I noticed I had a severe jaw pain when I tried to open my mouth to eat for example. It does not hurt to chew or smile. It s been 2 days since that happened, and thankfully the pain is going away. I have never suffered from jaw pain before and wanted to know if it could potentially be something serious. Please advise.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain and the cause that led to pain suggests that while screaming there is excessive opening the mouth leading to over stretching of muscles of the face and jaw..

Due to excessive tension over the muscles there tends to inflammation as well as wear and tear of some small muscle fibres..

Due to this there is pain and tenderness of muscles after some time..

You need not to worry as the pain is reducing and slowly the pain will completely be relieved..

In case you find some tension over the muscles you can take a muscle relaxant and painkiller combination like Flexon-MR or Nucoxia-MR for relief and relaxtion of muscles..

Avoid over stretching of muscles again as it can further add up to pain..

Hope your query is solved..
