What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Body While On NovoLog And Metformin?

My husband has had low blood sugar and found out after passing out last week that it was now high. Was put on NovoLog , Levemir and Metformin. Been on this 6 days. Blood sugar down but just broke out in bad hives, red areas and and itching. Took 3 25mg diphenhydramine. Is it okay to stop insulin till in the morning and contact Dr.

General Surgeon 's  Response
yes it's OK to stop insulin, it's important to figure out what is causing the allergic reaction. it could be one of the new drugs, or it could also be exposure to some environmental allergen. in any case drugs as a cause should be ruled out before continuing with the treatment. try to see your doctor asap
