My Dear
Welcome to Healthcaremagic!
I have noted your concerns and find that your history and details closely match that of
Intertrigo and
Pseudo Acanthosis Nigricans. First of all, I will tell you as to why this happens. your condition is seen mostly in individuals who have greater convexity of certain parts of the body where the skin of one side keeps on rubbing against the skin from the opposite part leading to friction. Now this friction causes subtle damage to skin and aided by moisture tends to create conditions suitable for growth of germs mainly a type of fungus but sometimes bacteria as you are experiencing.
My advice to anybody with this picture would be to
1 control weight
2 ventilate the affected areas to let the sweat evaporate
3 wear cotton garments of loose variety
4 Use antifungals for local and systemic use when bumps are not present. However for pus oozing bumps one needs to go for antibiotics. For fungal treatment,
Ketoconazole orally and
miconazole locally are good choices.
5 anti allergics for relief from itching.
Finally, the key is to control friction and moisture and remove predisposing factors like obesity.
If you follow these measures, you most likely will get rid of the problem forever. Best wishes.
