What Causes Itchy Raised Rash On Face And Wrist While Having Dermatographism?
I have had a itchy red raised rash on my face on and off for a year now. I have also developed one on my wrist. I have had occupational dermatitis on my hand that goes away in summer moths for at least 5 years now. My WBC has been 11.5 for the past 3 years. I also have chronic dermatographism(25yrs). Any connections between my WBC(neutrophils high) and my skin rash?
hello, I can understand your concerns as per your description it seems you have urticaria with dermographism positive since25 yrs. its an allergic disease which triggors by some factors or chronic infections. if you have diagnosed the allergen then you can avoid it. in this disease hypersensitivity of skin can be seen as there is mast cells activation which increases the eosinophils in the body and in chronic infections neutrophil counts can be increased which constitutes WBCs. so it maybe due to urticaria. or even your urticaria maybe due to some underlying chronic infection. you can go for allergen patch test for knowing the triggoring allergen or you can also discuss the other symptoms to rule out any chronic infectious diseases. antihistaminics like 5 mg citrizine can be taken once daily for itching. hope it helps you. thank you
