Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a skin rash that has been keeping me awake for the past three nights - seems to be related to an elbow injury...diagnosed as golf/tennis elbow. the rash began on my right arm over two weeks ago and was just a bit annoying. I received a cortisone shot last wednesday and was prescribed meloxicam. The redness and bumps are most persistent on both upper arms, but the itching is really all over my body at this point
The most common causes for generalized rash are---(1) infection such as chicken pox, rash associated with other viral illnesses such as flu etc, fungal infection (2)allergic reaction (3)side effect of medication (4)kidney or liver disease (5)thyroid disease
The use of an antihistamine would help with the itching eg benadryl, zyrtec, claritine, allegra but you may need to see your doctor to find the underlying cause.
I hope this helps
