What Causes Itchy Bumps On Skin Leaving Scars?

I have bumps that look like mosquito bite on my skin, noticeably on exposed areas. They are not terribly itchy but only start to be when scratched. Some large ones would leave scars on my skin. I suspected an insect bite so I cleaned the room and especially the bed, it worked a little bit, but still there are bumps

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

The lesions you described may be lichen urticatus ..also called papular urticaria. It is a hypersensitivity reaction to insects..like bedbug, flea, mosquito ...etc

There may be itchy papular eruptions. The lesions might heal and relapse. Secondary bacterial infection might occur.

You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. After thorough examination and investigations, he might treat you in proper way.

He might give you antihistaminics, antibiotics and steroid in tappering doses. Steroid cream may be advised to apply. You might improve after few weeks treatment.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
