What Causes Itching, Swelling And Redness In Hands?
Hi doc. I have questions and hope you can help me with my problem. I had my thyroid taken out both left & right on 2009, and been taking livothyroxine or centroid , after 6 months I noticed that I am getting allergic to exposure to cold temperature, anything I touched that is very cold in few minutes I will start itchy feeling on my hand and get very red and swelling and on my feet once also exposed to cold temperature it is same thing very itchy, but I can eat or drink cold food. Do you know what causes that? Is it the medication? Sometimes I am thinking of not taking the medication , may be I am allergic to it. Please help, if you can recomend something to take or what to do. What I do every time I get itchy I put my hand in hot water to ease the itchy funny feeling, it has a burning, itchy sensation, my hands get swell. Please help! From history it seems that you might be having allergic reaction to cold producing this problem.
Take antihistamine like Cetrizine or Benadryl for some time.
Avoid cold atmosphere.
Ok and take care.
