Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. This is very embarrassing, but I ve had a mole near my butthole for quite some time now. The whole time it s been there, it hasn t hurt one bit. But yesterday, the mole started to itch and bother me. What should I do? Is this something serious?
Almost every adult has a few moles. Adults who have light skin often have more moles. We may have 10 – 40 moles on our skin. This is normal. But you should be very careful when a mole starts growing in size or its color changes or any itching. Melanoma, a type of dangerous skin cancer, can grow in or near a mole. If detected early and treated, melanoma can be cured. The first sign of melanoma is often a change to a mole or a new mole on your skin. Checking your skin can help you find melanoma early. Advice 1. I suggest you to immediately go to a surgeon or dermatologist for further diagnosis and treatment 2. Get done biopsy of mole 3. You can apply Betnovate cream (betamethasone cream) locally every 8 hours for symptomatic relief of itching 4. Levocetirizine 5 mg daily if itching is unbearable Thanks
