What Causes Itching In The Ears While Using Hearing Aids?

I recently received hearing aids (July 24) and I wear them all day. Several times my ears on the inside get very itchy. I am worried that I might be allergic to the soft plastic (??) orb that sits on the inside of the ear (the part where the little filter sits in the middle). tonight i have great discomfort and sensitivity in that ear area. I have many food allergies and the standard pollen, trees, wool etc. So getting a test for allergy in the ear is not a problem. I have worked with an allergy specialist off and on for close to 15 years. What do you think?

As per your query you have symptoms of itching in the ears while using hearing aids it's a symptom of an underlying condition, such as ear injury, allergic reaction or ear infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to find out exact cause. Doctor may order certain tests like audiological test , rushing test, high, low pitched test and diagnose with otoscope. Doctor may prescribe tricyclic antidepressants , alprazolam , antibiotics along with anti inflammatory drugs . You should avoid touching or pricking ear. You should also take multivitamin supplement which is very helpful in such cases.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
