What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation In Vaginal Area Along With Thick White Discharge?

Hi, i have been experiencing itchiness and burning in my vaginal area. I also have a thick white discharge, with no smell. I assumed it was a yeast infection and so i got cream and have been applying it. however, i realized today that it is not a medicine, rather an anti-itch cream safe for the vaginal areas. Also today i have become very tender down there and it hurts to touch. Could this be something worse than a yeast infection? Should I go get the yeast infection medicine and try that?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely yeast infection. a swab test will be helpful to rule out this. You can use Clotrimazole cream for local application for this. This is available as over he counter in brands like Monistat or Canestan. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area and instead you can use saline or warm water. Using intimate wash is also good to normalize bacterial flora and PH.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
