What Causes Itching All Over The Body With Little Bumps?

I fell in December and was diagnosed with concussive injuries. Since then I have severe bouts of itching all over. There are little bumps all over my back. This is new for me. Benadryl doesn t seems to touch it. Hot liquids can trigger the itching or it will happen out of the blue. Are the two connected?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for red bumps on legs which is itching and spreading. There can be multiple possibilities of the red bumps and it requires a close physical examination to diagnose the exact entity of the problem.

In my view correlating with the facts you have provided it appears to be either scabies or allergic dermatitis of the area.

I suggest you to meet a dermatologist to for proper therapy. In between you should wash the area properly. If I were your dermatologist then presumptively would have preferred to apply a cream such as permethrin 5%. You can take an antihistamine such as loratadine for twice a day if itching is present.

Do not try to pinch, pop or squeeze the area as it may cause secondary infection of the area.

All the best
