What Causes Irregular Periods And Back Pain Post-partum?

Hello doc,I had a baby about 16 weeks ago. My first menstrual period started at about 3months after my delivery,it stopped after a week and started again 2weeks later. It is irregular, like,it might flow well today, and very light the next day. I ve been having severe abdominal and low back pain too. What could be the cause of this exceeding pain and what can I do about it?

Hi,
welcome to the health care magic and thanks for asking your query here

it seems that your body is taking longer time than usual to get back to the normal after labour however it is common to have irregular periods after delivery and it needs time to get back to the normal
your problem most probably be caused by imbalanced hormones levels or there may be some residual blood and which needs to expell out
for this I would strongly suggest you to consult your gynecologist to get it examine she may go for an ultrasound to determine if everything is ok , she may also go for some blood test to rule out any underlying medical condition

I hope it helps thanks and get well soon
