What Causes Irregular Menstrual Cycle Post Termination Of Pregnancy?

Good day doc. Am 28yrs from Nigeria. Pls my girlfriend got pregnant but I was not ready for it so we had an abortion. After the procedure, she bled for almost a month. It stopped but its almost 8months now and she can get a period anymore. Am really worried. It s something wrong with her system now? Pls i need ur help. Thanks

I understand your concern.
What your partner could be experiencing of not getting periods after the process of abortion is due to secondary amenorrhea. The cause of it needs to be determined which could be mostly due to hormonal imbalance.
Kindly get her blood tested for hormones FSH and LH levels along with an ultrasound scan of abdomen.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for appropriate evaluation and management.
