Hi my Wife period was 7 to 8 days late but since then she is having Irregular periods and heavy bleedings on consulting the Doctor the Doctor prescribed Doxycycline and Latic Acid Basilus and also saying that since once her periods were late she may have been pregnet and hence irregular periods..

It may help her to get on birth control pills for 3 months. This can often regulate the periods and get them back to normal. It is possible that she was pregnant and lost the pregnancy. This is common in early pregnancies in which there is some abnormality. It would take a while for the hormones to get back to normal and the periods to regulate if that is what happened.
