What Causes Intermittent Stabbing Pain Below The Ribcage?
Hello, I have an occassional stabbing pain in my left hand side just below my rib cage. Some days there is no pain at all, othervdays I can have 2 or 3 attacks. The pain lasts between 20 seconds and 2 minutes then disappears. It doesn t build up it just starts.

Stabbing pain under rib cage can be due to abdominal bloating due to gasses, indigestion/ acid reflux/irritation of spleen/ muscle pull.. caused by nerve compression at vertebral level/ some heart problem.
You need an extensive physical examination, investigations & specific treatment by a physician./ orthopedic doctor.
