Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What is the cause of a pulsing sensation in my right leg on the outside above the knee? It is intermittent and pulses about half the rate of my pulse sometimes. It sometimes makes me think my cell phone is on vibrate. It is quite faint and I am unable to sense it when I hold my hand on my leg but can feel it internally.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intermittent pulsating pain in leg. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like injuries , varicose veins , nerve damage , sciatica , formation of blood clots or side effects of certain drugs. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , mri along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and recommend physical therapy or may refer you to cardiologist for circulatory problem .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
