My son recently was hospitalized with chest pain ( in the upper right quadrant). Tests including stress test were performed. He had a heart attack 2 years ago. Hospital said all heart related tests were negative. The chest pain is not constant. He said it comes and goes. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. Thanks for writing to HCM.
I read and understand your question very well.
I try my best to solve it.

As you have intermittent pain in chest with past history of heart attack , there are many cause of this despite of heart attack like chest injury , coughing , acidity , pneumonia , trauma to chest etc.
I suggest you to do chest X ray and ECG to rule out the causes.
I also suggest you to consult a good physician for this.

I hope my advice will help you a lot.
Thanks and Regards.
Dr Vijay
